With so much to see and do in Western Australia's premier near-Perth leisure region, your time with us will be well spent. Perhaps you have a fancy to swim with dolphins, or visit them close up on a cruise. Or how about catching a feed of succulent blue swimmer crabs, or wetting a line for some exciting river, estuary or ocean fishing.
There's also house-boating and cruising quiet rivers and waterways. Dining, theatre-going and art exhibitions on Mandurah's spectacular waterfront. Or step back in time as you visit some of the Peel's heritage sites. You can do all this and more right here.
Perhaps you'd prefer to sip an award-winning vintage at a character winery. Tee off on a world famous golf course. Browse in discount, clearance, boutique and specialty shops. Trek a section of the famous Bibbulmun Track or cycle a leg of the new Munda Biddi Cycle Trail. Try your hand at white water rafting. Visit a feature garden. Or just relax as you enjoy the Peel Region's extensive smorgasbord of natural delights - a network of inland waterways, rivers, wetlands, lakes, forests, National Parks and sandy ocean beaches. The Peel is a great place to get back to nature.
Less than sixty minutes drive south from Perth, the Peel Region covers an area of 5,500 square kilometers and includes five sub-regions: Serpentine-Jarrahdale, Murray (including Pinjarra and Dwellingup), Boddington, Waroona and Mandurah. Each region with its unique characteristics and visitor attractions is featured on this website.
You can explore the Peel region on a day excursion from Perth, take one of our recommended two to three day self-drive tours, or spend some time just relaxing in a range of superb holiday accommodation. For your extra enjoyment, festivals and special events take place year round (also listed on this website). And to help make your visit complete, the Peel Region holiday planner, maps and a lot of other useful holiday information can be found in the Resource directory.

Mandurah
Life in Mandurah is centered on the calm protected waters of the Peel Inlet and Harvey Estuary, one of the largest inland waterways in Australia. The area also boasts kilometres of sandy Indian Ocean beaches and for these reasons, boating and fishing enthusiasts visit the city in droves to enjoy the enormous expanses of water and try their hand at boating, fishing, crabbing, prawning, wind-surfing, scuba diving, yachting and just about everything else that ends in "ing"!
Around the estuary foreshore, many large lawned picnic areas provide families with shelters, tables, barbecues, toilets and change rooms and there are a number of jettys and bridges to try your luck with a fishing line or crabbing net.
Mandurah's variety of accommodation offers an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding areas. The vast waterway and relaxed holiday lifestyle really set the mood for a great "get away from it all" holiday.
One of the best ways to explore the inlet and rivers is on one of the local cruise boats, though you can also experience the waerways and local canals in a hire boat (ranging from a fishing dinghy to a fully equipped houseboat).
